Pardon Our French. Sara Nelson says a conversation between Adam Gopnik and a bestselling French novelist at the PEN World Voices Festival was a dream for Francophiles who had the chance to soak in. Known in French as “Endives Au Jambon”, this Belgian Endive and Ham Gratin is a typical dish from Northern France and Belgium. Endives are wrapped in ham slices, smothered in a thick layer of voluptuous Mornay Sauce and baked until bubbly perfection.

Hi there!

We are a family of six originally from Edmonton, Canada – in rural Burundi where we live and work at Kibuye Hope Hospital with a team sent by Serge.

We have 4 kids – boy/girl/boy/girl. The first and last born in the same hospital in Grenoble, France – the middle two in Edmonton, Canada. Apparently, we’ve spent 10 of the past 15 years or so in francophone countries – but you’ll really need to pardon our French. (Well not the kids…they make fun of my accent too…c’est la vie)

For more info on the where/why/how/what we’re doing here – you can click on WATTS IN BURUNDI up there to the left…

Pardon Our French is the chronicling of our lives that we started when we moved to France (the second time) in 2010.

Consider yourself informed.

We’re Moving

Pardon Our French Blog

Well we’ve been here for a little over a year. It seemed like it was working fine - but you start to feel limited - constrained after a while. We have had more visitors than I thought - but that’s not really the reason to move. We just need a bit more…well - space.

Rhobh Pardon Our French

so as of NOW - we are shifting over to:

Pardon Our French...

This site will remain up - but new posts will be over at the new site, and I’ve moved over all the current stuff as well.

Colourpop Pardon Your French

I’m also trying to move over photos, comments, followers etc….but lets be honest…I don’t have one sweet clue what I’m doing - so don’t hold your breath.
